I came across a pile of garbage that was unnecessarily placed at the bottom of a majestic Little Mountain. Darcy B’s homework from only a month earlier was laying next to me. It brought me to tears. Then the Mountain spoke to me. This is what he said:
Darcy B. Darcy B. why is your homework beneath the trees?
Is school so bad that you cannot see
The forest for the trees?
Darcy B. Darcy B. Why do you stare but do not see
Decades of trash beneath the leaves
Left to rot for eternity?
Darcy B. Darcy B. you have inspired somebody.
One like you who sat with me
She saw what you could not see.
Oh Darcy B. Darcy B. she cares about nature, you see.
She sat in silence and cried with me.
As she held your homework on her knee.
Darcy B, Darcy B. I think she’ll do something for me.
She closed her eyes and then could see
How human’s like you can move mountains like me.
Darcy B, Darcy B. on March 21st, 2013
There is a work-bee
Let go of shame, and identity
And clean up the mess you left with me.
