I am taking voice lessons to improve my voice, until I am as good as I want to be, to get my songs recorded… what are you learning right now?
I’m watching a youtube video about how to learn anything in 20 hours.
I’m skeptical, and yet VERY curious. If you want to watch first on your own, check it out #RSAFast
The guy in the video says:
“Don’t allow that research to be a form of procrastination!”
The best approach is to pick 3-5 resources, and identify the ideas that come up over, and over and over again, just skim it. Identify those techniques that are important.
Do just enough to allow you to jump into the practice as quickly as possible, and self-correct as you go.
Make it easy, remove barriers, to sit down and actually practice what you want to practice. It is important to make sure you are not distracted. Turn off your cell phone, tv, internet. Make sure the time that has been set aside is as undivided and focused as possible. Make it easy to practice.
Keep your guitar next to you. Make it easier to remind yourself that practice is a priority.
Which reminds me… hahaaa, I looked at my guitar that I am looking at, and now I am going to practice my singing when I’m done this video and blog.
Here I go practicing my lip trills, as recommended by my voice teacher Amber Pitre. Thank you for using your new-age skills to engage my passion to get my song recorded and out to the greater world!
3 Phases of Learning
1. Really thinking about it
2. Inter-relating – starting to do it without thinking
3. Just do it, don’t think.
