Welcome and thank you for reading our
2025 Annual Report
2025 was an extraordinary year, marked by challenge, adventure, meaningful quests, and new friendships.
For those of you who don’t know, the spring brought a series of unexpected moves that significantly disrupted momentum and placed many projects on pause until August. Despite this instability, the year ultimately resolved in a deeply positive way. Founder Jamie Black found housing with an extraordinary family one rooted in love, kindness, and generosity. Jamie is incredibly grateful to now be living in a sweet little cabin while working toward the creation of a small, thoughtfully designed tiny home out of a sea can.
This sense of safety and belonging has been a meaningful foundation as Jamie continues to rebuild and re-envision what comes next. Things are shifting. See more below.
Wild Craft Play & Creative Work
Even amidst major life transitions, Wild Craft Play continued to thrive in meaningful ways. In May, we hosted a truly epic Wild Craft Role Play: Dragon Isle Quest. The event was not only successful in execution but powerful in spirit capturing the imagination, resilience, and heart of our community.
Following the quest, we collaborated on a written article and welcomed professional photographers to document the experience. Their work beautifully captured the essence of who we are, what we create, and why this work matters.

Neurodiverse Employment & Life Skill Development
Free Training for Youth ages 15 to 30
After 20 years of helping young people learn the art of marketing themselves online, we have decided to host a training hub, peer support and community of practice as youth develop the art of content creation, and creating for others.
Neurodiverse Employment
In 2025, we intentionally prioritized neuro-diverse employment, creating meaningful, supportive work opportunities that align with individual strengths and access needs. Despite this instability, the year ultimately unfolded in a deeply positive way.
This year, we employed several neuro-divergent individuals, providing approximately 50 hours of paid employment, alongside mentorship and ongoing support within a neuro-inclusive framework. This approach emphasized flexibility, strengths-based task design, and relational support—ensuring that employment was not only accessible, but affirming and sustainable.
All participating youth use a private and confidential learning space we call the “Sandbox.” This space supports learning, growth, experimentation, and doing our best—creating an environment where everyone can thrive
Digital StoryWorks Initiative
In August, the development of Digital StoryWorks created paid learning and employment opportunities for youth from Vancouver and surrounding areas. This initiative focused on building practical, real-world digital skills, including:
- Graphic design
- Video editing
- Ad copy writing
- Script writing and storytelling for digital platforms
Participants were supported in learning industry-relevant tools and workflows while gaining confidence in creative expression and professional collaboration.
Learners design graphics, edit videos and engage in video calls with experienced mentors such as Jamie Black, and other experienced mentors.

Long-Term Youth Mentorship
For many years, I have taught youth and young adults—approximately ages 15 to 30—how to do this work, at no cost to them. This long-standing commitment reflects a belief that access to digital literacy, storytelling skills, and creative employment pathways should not be limited by financial barriers.
This mentorship has consistently centered on empowerment, skill transfer, and real-world application—preparing youth to contribute meaningfully in creative and digital economies.
Transition to Consulting, Free Mentorship & Team-Based Delivery
As this work continues to grow, I am transitioning into a consulting and creative direction role, supported by a team that now manages our online social media marketing and advertising. This shift allows for greater scalability, sustainability, and expanded opportunities for youth and neurodivergent contributors to participate in paid, supported digital work.

Testimonials
Jamie carries a special kind of magic and enchantment. From our first onboarding meeting I felt like I’d stepped into a cozy little storybook where I was the main character and all the scary parts of “business” had been transformed into something fun and creative. With a few well-placed questions and a sprinkle of encouragement, they transformed what once felt like a tangled mess into a glittering web of possibility. I left that first call feeling like I’d been handed a magical book of choose your own adventure—brimming with inspiration, courage, and a giddy excitement.Michaela Devries of Hearthstone Art Therapy
Working with Jamie at Digital Story Works has been an incredible experience. Jamie has a unique gift for bringing stories to life in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and impactful. From the very beginning, they took the time to listen, understand my vision, and guide me with creative ideas I never would have thought of on my own. The process was smooth, professional, and inspiring, and the final result went far beyond my expectations. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your story and knows how to share it beautifully online, Jamie is the one to work withYouth Learner ~ Emann
🌲🗡️ Community Participation & Upcoming Opportunities

Call for Non-Player Characters (NPCs)
We are actively seeking additional Non-Player Characters (NPCs) to join an upcoming Wild Craft Play quest planned for Spring 2026 (likely May).
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy:
- Dressing up as imaginative characters
- Participating in improvised, playful, and sometimes ridiculous role-play
- Being “attacked” safely with foam swords in a consent-based, structured environment
- Spending time outdoors on the land
Participants must be comfortable being outside for extended periods and have secure, waterproof footwear suitable for varied terrain and weather conditions.
If you know anyone who loves creative play, collaborative storytelling, and embodied adventure, please tell them we’re looking for them.

🌊🦦🌱 Environmental Stewardship with
Shadow Play Collective
The Shadow Play Collective is a group of people who come together and shine light on the issues that plague the Earth. In this case we share about the trash that ends up on the Earth, with the hope to find answers, as we share it along the way.
We are excited to announce that we are also working to finish our production Curating Cleaner Waters through creative environmental action. This includes continued development of our otter puppets, crafted from garbage collected on local beaches, transforming waste into powerful storytelling tools for environmental education and advocacy.
As part of this initiative, we are currently seeking two to three artists to join us in this mission—artists who are passionate about creativity, environmental protection, and preventing garbage from ending up on the land and in the ocean.
If you know anyone who would be excited to collaborate on this work, please help us spread the word.
This is a Special Gift for you,
from Jamie.

Whether you walk the land, honor the cycles of nature, or simply appreciate beautiful, nature-inspired design, this calendar is a thoughtful companion for reflection and creativity.
I wish to give you this as a free gift.
Thank you for your endless support, we are all blessed to have you in our sphere.
