Build Confidence in Outdoor Play
Our Philosophy & Approach

We believe in teaching
you how to fish.

With 20+ years in the field as a professional outdoor guide and founder of Wild Craft Play with over 30 leaders trained, it’s time to teach you how to help yourself. We are a team of passionate people here to support leaders who take youth outside, learn to protect each other, the Earth, and strengthening communities.

What if building resilience regenerated confidence, leadership, and real-world skills? What if leaders didn’t have to struggle alone?Jamie Black

We coach and guide you through systems and strategies that are technically daunting alone, but manageable together. We help you build something that keeps working long after our engagement ends.

Community Collaboration

Community Building Quest on Quadra

A community-wide initiative on Quadra Island bringing residents, youth, and organizations together through exploration, teamwork, and shared challenges that strengthen local bonds.

Earth Preservation

Beach Cleanup Prevention Initiative

Going beyond one-time cleanups — focusing on prevention through education, community engagement, and youth-led environmental stewardship along our coastlines.

What we bring to the table

Helping you build systems and strategies that work.

We believe in teaching you how to fish. Our role isn’t to create dependency — it’s to coach and guide you through a journey that can feel technically overwhelming alone, while building your capacity along the way.

Our creative work — design, video, and storytelling — is proudly produced by a team of young and neurodivergent minds who bring fresh perspective and appreciate meaningful employment.

“All of them worked on what they were passionate about, it was part of what they were selling and what they were creating. Now they’ve gone beyond that, outside the classroom. All of them have… Wild Craft Play brings back the magic.” Kelli Rosenbeck
