So much that I am learning

Right now I feel like there is SO much that I am learning!

In my Masters, I am diving deeper, learning about curriculum development, learning styles, teamwork and communication.  And the key item that relates directly with my work at the moment is this concept of…

“It’s not so much what you say that counts, it’s how you say it… and then discerning whether you say IT at all.”

At work it is the same lesson… rather than jumping in as my excited Firey energy self, which leads to people feeling like their toes are being stepped on, I need to be like OWL.  Observe, Watch, Listen… then with that new Wisdom, glide into a fabulous realm of team based work that results in a happy cohesive team effort.

This is new to me, and I know why.  Most of my life I shied away from team sports, because there were always these 5 tight-knit girls who went to summer camp together, hung out together and played together, and when I would show up, I was super sensitive to their emotions, their looks, their sarcasm and how they portrayed themselves.  This sensitivity has followed me throughout my life.  Some say it’s “Empathetic”… but I don’t know, I find I have to step back and project very little empathy with people, or else I take on all of their emotions, and am exhausted at the end of the day.  So a long time ago, in Grade 11, I remember the day very clearly.  I decided that…

“What other people think of me is none of my business.” Gary Oldman

Is someone just trying to tick me off
